Art reflects its time, a primary source of information.

These drawings are study’s based on 16th century paintings and refer to a historical concept. Somehow they reflect an atmosphere of apocalypse.
Whether religious, sexual or political, they are part of the timeframe then and the timeframe now.

With these study’s I want to connect 16th century art with Contemporary art.

Art reflects its time, a primary source of information.
The drawings are study’s based on Renaissance paintings (1500 – 1700) and refer to a historical concept. Somehow they reflect an atmosphere of apocalypse.
Whether religious, sexual or political, they are part of the timeframe then and the timeframe now.

With these study’s I want to connect 16th century art with Contemporary art.

Therefore I pay hommage to contemporary artists as well, those artists  who reflect on the timeframe now, with a creative conscience that encompasses world-changing somehow similar to the Renaissance period.
